Privacy Policy
Effective 31 October 2026
In short: Tidy does not collect, store or share any personal data. It has no account, analytics, advertising or tracking, and it never sends your files or scan results anywhere. Everything happens on your Mac.
This policy explains how the Mac app Tidy: System Data Cleaner (“Tidy”, “the app”) handles information. Tidy is developed by Little Sunday (“we”, “us”).
Data we collect
None. The app does not send any information to us or to third parties. We do not use analytics, crash reporting, advertising or any third-party SDKs. In the App Store, Tidy is labelled “Data Not Collected”.
What the app accesses on your Mac
To find what takes up space, Tidy needs to read your files. It asks for each permission separately and explains why before asking:
- Your home folder. Tidy measures folders and files and finds caches, logs, duplicates and other data that can be removed. It reads file names, sizes and dates, and for duplicates it compares file contents.
- Full Disk Access (optional). Lets Tidy measure places macOS keeps private, such as Mail attachments, iPhone backups and Safari data. You turn it on yourself in System Settings and can turn it off at any time.
- Photos (optional). Lets Tidy find duplicates, screenshots and large videos in your Photos library. Photos you remove go to Recently Deleted. If you turn on previews for videos stored only in iCloud, macOS downloads them from your iCloud Photos directly from Apple; we receive nothing.
- Applications folder (optional). Asked only when you choose to remove an app.
All of this is processed only on your Mac. Video compression also runs locally, on your Mac’s own chip.
What the app stores
To work faster and to let you undo a cleanup, Tidy keeps a few things in its own container on your Mac: the last scan results, file fingerprints for finding duplicates, the cleanup history, the folders you asked it never to touch, and your settings and permissions. This data never leaves your Mac. Deleting the app removes it.
Purchases
Tidy Pro is sold through the App Store. Payments are processed by Apple; we never see your name, payment details or Apple Account. The app checks your purchases on the device with Apple’s StoreKit. Apple shares only aggregated, anonymous sales reports with developers. Apple’s handling of your data is described in the Apple Privacy Policy.
When you contact us
If you write to us by email, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to send, and use it only to reply to you. We do not add you to any mailing list. You can ask us to delete our correspondence at any time.
Children
Tidy does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the way Tidy handles data changes, we will update this page and its effective date before the new version of the app is released.
